When Gavin Johnson took over as managing director in 2010, he shifted the company into another gear altogether. With his background of mechanical engineering, production, and management in large manufacturing organisations, he ensures Datastor’s service offerings stay abreast of new technologies and ways of working.

 

Gavin holds a mechanical engineering degree from Sheffield University. He started out as a test engineer at Land Rover in the 80s, and since then his career has taken him to various roles and challenges, both technical and business oriented. His last post was European MD of a global industrial electrical engineering manufacturer.

 

With all this going on in Gavin’s life it is incredible that he managed to find the time to represent Great Britain at triathlon and duathlon in the 1990’s and has cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats too! Gavin is married with three children.
